Hulon Haskell Morse

Hulon Haskell Morse, Sr., 81, of Hope, Ark., died on Wednesday April 30, 2008, at his home. He was born on March 16, 1927, in Emerson, Ark., to Troy Nelson and Odus Evelyn McDonald Morse. He was a third generation master carpenter. He was a Baptist and a Navy veteran of World War II. He loved his family and to hunt, fish and to garden. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Cecil Hubert Morse, Willis Byrd Morse, Charles Edgar Morse, and Clifford Berdell Morse; and one sister Cornera Lee Cheatham Tyson.

His survivors include: his wife of 61 years, Mildred Dean Morse of Hope, Ark.; two sons, William Troy Morse, Magnolia, Ark., and Hulon Haskell Morse, Jr. of Hope, Ark.; two daughters, Leta Raye Nelson of Lewisville, Ark. and Reta Kaye Morse of Rosston, Ark.; one sister, Ruby Branton of Sarepta, La.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2008, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home, Hope, Ark.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Huckabee Cemetery in Spring Hill, Ark., with Rev. Larry Byers and Rev. Glen Shults officiating. Burial to follow.
