David James Acord

David James Acord, son of the late Bud and Anetha Brant, was born at Bloomfield on Nov. 25, 1937, and died at his home in Branson West on Monday, May 5, 2008, at the age of 70.

Mr. Acord had spent most of his life in the Bloomfield community, was a veteran of the U. S. Army, a long time member of the Bloomfield AMVETS and worked several years for Frields Plumbing in Dexter. On April 16, 1963, he was married to Doris Moore and she preceded him in death in May 19, 1993. In 1994, he was married to Priscilla Shell. She preceded him in death on Jan. 10, 2007.

Survivors include two sons, David Acord, Jr., of Puxico and Carl Thomas Jackson of Bloomfield; one daughter, Tammy Hester of Branson West; one sister, Alberta Acord of North Dakota; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 9, 2008, at 1 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery.
