National Nursing Home Week

Tuesday, May 13, 2008

(Photo)
Dexter Mayor Joe Weber (seated) signs a proclamation declaring May 11-17 as National Nursing Home Week. The American Health Care Association began the week-long celebration in 1967 and activities are designed to foster intergenerational relationships, collect and preserve patient's reminiscences, strengthen relationships with family members, celebrate quality and recognize all staff members who demonstrate excellent care giving. Local nursing home administrators pictured with Weber are (from left) John Langley, Cypress Point; Dave Ellinghouse, Crowley Ridge Care Center; Ron Floyd, Golden Living Center of Dexter; and Stacey Blocker, Central Gardens Residential Care. Not pictured is Golden Living Center of Bloomfield Administrator Jean Rice.
