Jim McDaniel, son of the late James Richard McDaniel and Gladys Turnage McDaniel, was born on Sept. 9, 1925, at Frisco and died in the Heritage Manor Nursing Center at Rolling Fork, Miss., on May 9, 2008, at the age of 82.
Mr. McDaniel was a retired custom harvester, the former Sheriff of Stoddard County, a resident of Rolling Fork, Miss., formerly of Dexter.
He was united in marriage to Marceilla Mayberry on Nov. 22, 1947, at Piggott, Ark. Mrs. McDaniel preceded him in death on Dec. 7, 1989.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy McDaniel of Rolling Fork, Miss., and Lee McDaniel of Flintstone, Ga.; one daughter, Jamie McMillian of Reno, Nev.; two sisters, Francis Cope of Dexter and June Widrig of Bedford, N.H.; and three grandchildren.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, James Lee McDaniel, Jr., and Michael McDaniel.
Visitation was held from 1:30-3 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel.
Interment followed in the Dexter Cemetery.
