She will be deeply missed by her children, Billy Neubauer (Heather) and Jonathan Neubauer (Lindy); and her three grandchildren, Will, Annika and Kiersten Neubauer. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Tamarin Austin (Jonas), Garth Janssen, Chris Hill (Jenny) and Gwen Pollard (Joe), who she lovingly cared for as her own.
Raised in Lebanon where her father was a high school principal and her mother a librarian, she was the majorette for the high school marching band.
Her desire was to be a nurse, and she graduated from the Jewish Hospital School of Nursing in 1965 where upon graduation she became a registered nurse. She quickly became an assistant head nurse at Jewish Hospital, then a surgical nurse in Denver, Tucson, and Dexter. In Dexter, she was her husband Ron's first assistant in surgery.
A caring and compassionate wife, friend, mother and grandmother, Donna was the ultimate caregiver. She enjoyed the company of her many friends and was devoted to her church, the First Baptist Church in Dexter where she loved to sing in the choir. Christianity was a major focus in her life as well as community involvement. She actively supported the hospital in Dexter, organizing the annual Dr. Ron Hill Memorial Golf Tournament and overseeing the gifting of the proceeds to the Ron Hill Scholarship Foundation.
Donna underwent four years of chemotherapy, enduring it with amazing strength of character and courage. She maintained an active lifestyle and positive attitude despite her illness. Donna made it a priority to be available and active with her family, friends and church.
Donna/Mom/Grandma will be deeply missed, but will never be forgotten. Donna was surrounded by family in her final days. The family knows she is now happily joined with Ron and her parents in heaven.
