Don L. Robinett, son of the late Arthur L. and Allie May Jobe Robinett, was born in Doniphan on March 27, 1928, and died at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Saturday, May 3, 2008, at the age of 80.

Mr. Robinett had lived in Dexter most of his life. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in Korea.

On May 29, 1953, he was married to Mary Helen Phillips in Poplar Bluff.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Helen Robinett of Dexter; one daughter, Gail Acton of Dexter; four sons, Richard "Ricky" Phillips of Stoney Point, N.C., Donnie Robinett of Poplar Bluff, Phillip and Roger Robinett, both of Dexter; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Letha Woodruff of Bloomfield; and one brother, Wayne Robinett of Oreo.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Lawrence, Lonnie, Lloyd, Harry and Charlie Robinett; and three sisters, Euretha Powers, Sylvia Greer, and Retha Putnam.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Lonnie Mittag of Dexter.

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Missouri military honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter will be in charge of arrangements.
