Politically correct

Thursday, May 15, 2008

(Photo)
Each morning for the past few years, two local business icons who are well known for their opposing political outlooks, put those views aside as they walk away the very early morning hours on the streets of Dexter. C.H. Parsons and Norman Harty were joined by the Republican candidate for Missouri governor, Sarah Steelman, in a brisk walk Wednesday long before shop-owners unlocked their doors for the business day. Steelman was in Dexter for a news conference this week at the Harty offices and runs daily not just for the governor's office, but for her health as well.

So these two cats have been walking together in the mornings over the last few years? If that is the case, it's a pretty neat deal. It would be really cool if they helped revive Old Downtown. Shops, restaurants, etc., all in one area. Such potential, but not much is happening. Why is that?
