Tuesday, May 20, 2008 ~ Updated 12:23 PM

John Kacey Jones

One of the two Stoddard County inmates who broke out of the county jail late last night.

Sheriff Hefner reported that John Kacey Jones was captured just a short while ago in Clay County, Ark. near Piggott.

No further details of the capture have been released.

According to Hefner, the two escaped at approximately 10:36 p.m. through an air conditioning duct in the ceiling.

Manuel Ajanel is still on the loose.

Ajanel is 24 years old, 5'4" and about 130 lbs.. He is of Hispanic origin with dark hair and skin. He was arrested on charges of forcible rape in early 2008.

"If you come into contact with either of these men or believe you may have seen them, contact your local law enforcement officials immediately," he said.

He also cautioned that under no circumstances should you try to apprehend them.

Hefner said all of the area schools have been contacted and have instituted their individual policies.

We are still awaiting a mug shot of Ajanel.

Don't everyone know, Stoddard County has there own laws-Guilty until proven innocent. Don't get me wrong, if he rape a girl he needs to go to prison! If she was raped & scared why did she wait 2 months before she said anything about a rape? I'm not trying to judge anyone, just wondering! Get caught with drugs $150,000 cash only bond-Raping or killing someone $25,000 cash only bond-Something's wrong with this picture-Stoddard County Laws for ya !!!!!

Agreed!

No there was no DNA because that girl waited a few months before she even said that she had been raped and then she went around telling a few of her own family members that Ajanel didnt even touch her . the one that she had been in the bed with did 120 days then was sent back to Mexico . but u have the right family Sweet its just that the mother just got home , but her son was never in the system . and he is now spending his time with his mom again :-) .. I mean dont get me wrong I agree that if Ajanel had done what he was accused of then by all means he should have been in Jail .

PMC sorry for my misinformation. I guess I must be thinking about the wrong person. I could of swore his wife was put in jail for messing with the witness. Maybe it is another case. So many sexual assault cases down there lately, (and one who should be charged walks free...) it's hard to keep on top of them all.

Teel yes ur right once was enough for us.

-- Posted by sweet on Wed, May 28, 2008, at 2:44 AM

PMC did you not come to this guys defense? Was there not any DNA evidence linking the suspect to the vicitm. I for one realize there are people accused of rape that actually did not do the crime. I believe these people that accuse others of such an offense and it is later found out to not be true, should face the same sentence the alledged rapist would have been subject to. Maybe that would stop some of it.

Yes "Sweet" we are related some where down the line-LOL-Put it this way, we both learned our lesson the 1st time, there was no 2,3 or 4 time of getting into trouble !

-- Posted by teel on Fri, May 23, 2008, at 9:05 PM

Sweet...

Ajanels son is not in the system ..he is with his grandmother and his mother is not in jail she is home ..I am also telling u all Ajanel DID NOT RAPE that girl!! If she was raped she wouldnt have been at another party ( that I have pictures of) getting drunk again right after all that was suppose to have taken place ..This makes me sad for these young girls that are really raped and nothing is done to help them !!! I would not know all of this but was around when all these things were suppose to have happened!!

"as far as I'm concerned there aint no excuse for the rape'n and the kill'n and the child abuse! I gotta way to an end to all that mess- You just take them rascals down to the swamp, put them on their knees, tie them to a stump and let the rattlers, the bugs and the alligators do the rest!"- Charlie Daniels, Simple Man

Rape is a horrible crime, you violate a person in the worst way, taking something that is supposed to be a special moment between 2 people in love not to mention exposing them to whatever diseases you may have. Even if you are a disease free person, they do not know this and after the trauma of the incident subsides enough for other concerns to enter their thoughts they have to start worrying about whether they where just handed a death sentence. There are plenty, and I mean plenty, of people out there that will hop in bed with just about anyone in a heartbeat, so why force them? I know some of it has to do with a power trip. I guess I will just never understand these sick individuals.

Everyone makes mistakes in life but the lesson to learn ,is learn from your 1st mistake. Don't keep repeating your mistakes over & over again!! Believe me, I learned my lesson the 1st time. There was no 2,3,4 or 5th time for me. There's a time in your life when you need to grow up!!!!

-- Posted by teel on Thu, May 22, 2008, at 8:46 PM

We can all tell that some 1 's remarks lead us 2 believe that he has never had the Pleasure/ of being in jail; Nasty over crowded,County 4 sure! Definately Not the Holiday Inn! Did Not say that they should Not be in jail, just wanted 2 make that cleaR!

To anyone who took offense to my statement I apologise! I am not one to ridicule someone for their race or religion. It is to my understanding from a friend in Dexter; that Anjanel is in the USA on a greencard. I was merely stating chances are he went back to his birth country as his escape route. I didn't realize I needed to go into such details in my statement. All I know is if I got into trouble in another country I would run back to the USA in a New York minute.

And YES swift I couldn't agree with you more. I will dance a jig when he is caught. I don't like child molestors.

-- Posted by sweet on Thu, May 22, 2008, at 4:38 PM

The Poplar Bluff Paper had some more detail about this escape in yesterday's American Republic. Apparenly somebody gave Ajanel a ride to Tennessee. The ones involved in Jones' escape are apparently in custody.

Tell you what Sweet, We'll all dance when Ajanell gets caught and gets what he deserves!

Just a note: I think Mexicans have a lot of Aztec Indian in them.

-- Posted by swift on Thu, May 22, 2008, at 11:41 AM

Omg take it to the next level people! I am half indian!!! Shall we dance???

-- Posted by sweet on Thu, May 22, 2008, at 3:27 AM

It's working just fine if all they get are fines and probation. It's a big money maker to keep letting these people who will obviously never learn their lesson out over and over again. That just gets them more fines to have to pay! Not that I agree with this tactic...because I 100% don't.

-- Posted by poster on Wed, May 21, 2008, at 5:14 PM

Kind of reminds me of that song Simple Man by Charlie Daniels. Controversial? Yeah, unless you agree with him! And I do!

-- Posted by swift on Wed, May 21, 2008, at 3:38 PM

I just wanna know why these people keep getting a slap on the hand and get out. Then they turn around and do it again..obviously something isnt working.

My daughter in law is hispanic and has never been in Mexico! Let's see- I'm of mixed European ancestory and I've never been in Europe. You can see where this can go!

Seriously, when Ajenel is caught, he needs to have the maximum justice for the rape. I don't give a care what ethnic background he has!

-- Posted by swift on Wed, May 21, 2008, at 2:35 PM

buffmaster you were born here so how can you go back? anyhow anyone who comes to this country and wants to break our laws needs to be sent back if you are born here and you want to break our laws then you should be sent off to prison and my idea of prison makes the actual prison system now a days look like a retreat to a holiday inn.

-- Posted by MikeM68 on Wed, May 21, 2008, at 2:33 PM

juat=just hehe obviously I do not proof read my own comments.

-- Posted by MikeM68 on Wed, May 21, 2008, at 2:30 PM

hey sweet I was born and raised in dexter, Im of hispanic origin. do i need to go back to mexico too?

-- Posted by buffmaster on Wed, May 21, 2008, at 11:33 AM

Oh and for the other guy Ajanel he is probably already safe and sound in Mexico or whatever country he is from. His wife is in jail isn't she? Chances are their children are in the state system. So, he has nothing to stick around in the USA for......

-- Posted by sweet on Wed, May 21, 2008, at 2:49 AM

You talk about Kacey learning his lesson in 2005. Well, what about 1997? How many times does a person have to go to jail to learn a lesson??

-- Posted by sweet on Wed, May 21, 2008, at 2:43 AM

Idiot. I guess he thought he was gonna outsmart the cops.....looks like he did outsmart the jailer though.

-- Posted by mizzou_mom on Wed, May 21, 2008, at 12:54 AM

kacy jones is just to stupid to escape from jail hope he has fun doing 30+ ud think he would have learned his lesson from 2005 when he got busted for trafficking from texas. i guess some people never learn

-- Posted by johndeeregirl on Tue, May 20, 2008, at 9:06 PM

And where was the jailer or night watchman?

-- Posted by clickytown on Tue, May 20, 2008, at 4:58 PM

I want to know why the air conditioning vent in a jail cell would be big enough for them to fit in. That's juat plain ignorant.

-- Posted by MikeM68 on Tue, May 20, 2008, at 3:58 PM

Good job on the capture! Our prayers are that the second will be caught speedily!
