He was born July 1, 1929, in Waterbury, Conn., son of John and Alice Andrenyak Dzvonar. He married Deane Tedder Oct. 22, 1949, in San Jose, Calif.
Mr. Dzvonar was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean Conflict from 1946-1950. He was employed with John Deere in tool design, then became a process engineer. He also taught tool and die at Hawkeye Tech.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Karen Ann Olds of Ringold, Okla.; four grandchildren; five great-granddaughters; and a sister, Ruth Palyuk of Mishawaka, Ind.
He was preceded in death by a son, John Michael Dzvonar; a brother, Dan Dzvonar; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
Public visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2008, at the Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Home on West Ridgeway in Waterloo, Iowa. There will also be visitation one hour prior to services on Friday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2008, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service in Waterloo, Iowa where full military rites will be conducted by The American Legion Post 138 and V.F.W. Post 1623.
