William "Bubby" Morgan

William "Bubby" Morgan, son of Elizabeth Batey of Bernie and the late William Oliver Morgan was born on January 8, 1947 at Portageville and died in the St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at the age of 61.

Mr. Morgan was of the Baptist Faith, the former custodian at the Town and Country Cinema at Dexter, a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Vietnam War and a resident of Dexter.

He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Batey of Bernie; by one brother, Junior Curtis of Batesville, Ark.; by three sisters: Judy Costin of Bernie, Blanchie Minton of Dexter and Paulette Kennedy of Bernie; by nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie from 1-3:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2008.

Funeral services will then be conducted at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joe Castoe officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery with full military honors.
