She was born March 18, 1939, in Blytheville, Ark., and attended school in Charter Oak and Canalou. She has been a Vermilion resident since 1974 moving from Prince George Co., Md.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Vermilion, Ohio, where she was the bookkeeper for several years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Madeleine Chapter #204 O.E.S.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Loren Leonberger; her mother, Sunshine Mick of Vermilion, Ohio; sons, Vincent Bruce Leonberger of Chantilly, Va., and Timothy Scott Leonberger of Delaware, Ohio; a sister, Connie J. Goldcamp of Columbus, Ohio; three grandchildren; brothers, James Luther Garner of Jacksonville, Fla., and Joseph Marion Garner of Vermilion, Ohio.
Preceding her in death were her father, James Luther Garner; and sisters, Montez Brixie and Sondra Namath.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 1, 2008, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
Services will be held Monday, June 2, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 6716 West River Rd., Vermilion, Ohio, with Rev. Donald Resecker officiating.
Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
