Lottie Stockton Reed

Lottie Stockton Reed, daughter of the late William Simpson and Clara Harrelson Simpson, was born on Nov. 29, 1917, at Calhoun County, Miss., and died on May 31, 2008, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter at the age of 90.

Mrs. Reed was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Blytheville, Ark., and a former resident of Parma currently living in Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Corbett Stockton on Aug. 31, 1939. Mr. Stockton preceded her in death on April 20, 1961. On Aug. 19, 1979. Mrs. Stockton was united in marriage to R.T. Reed. Mr. Reed preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1996.

She is survived by two sons, Harvey M. Stockton of Catron and Levon Stockton of Somerset, Ky.; two step-sons, Robert Reed and Ronnie Reed, both of Texas; one step-daughter, Sandra Tibbs of Morehouse; three brothers, John Simpson of Campbell, J.B. Simpson of Manila, Ark., and Morris Simpson Jr. of Jacksonville, Ark.; two sisters, Nella Lee of Blytheville, Ark., and Guelda Deason of Stafford, Texas; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, John Leroy Stockton; one step-son, Randall Reed; two brothers in infancy; one sister, Evelyn Lipford; and one step-grandson.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, from 1-2 p.m.

Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery with the Rev. O.H. Brooks and Rev. Tim Ingle officiating.
