Jerry Lynn McClard, son of the late Myrtie C. Rose and Andrew McClard, was born at Bloomfield on Sept. 24, 1941, and died at his home in Bloomfield on June 1, 2008, at the age of 66.
Jerry spent his childhood and most of his teen years in Bloomfield before enlisting in the Marines. After serving his time in the service, he moved to Flint, Mich., where he married Elaine Louise Harrell. In 1975 Jerry moved his family back to Bloomfield, where he continued to live the remainder of his life. Jerry's passion was carpentry and he was very skilled in woodworking.
Survivors include one daughter, Denice (McClard) Martinez and son-in-law Ismael (Johnny) Martinez of Davison, Mich.; daughter-in-law, Trish McClard of Bloomfield; grandson, Alex Martinez of Davison, Mich.; grandsons, Dalton and Cole McClard; granddaughter, Morgan McClard all of Bloomfield; brothers, Sam McClard of Bloomfield, Sunnie McClard of Washington, and Harold McClard of Georgia; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Gregory McClard.
Visitation will be held at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield after 10 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2008.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2008, at 1 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery at Bloomfield.
