William Albert Peacock, son of the late Albert and Ethel Cruse Peacock, was born in Barfield, Ark., on March 11, 1926, and died at his home in New Madrid on Monday, June 2, 2008, at the age of 82.

Mr. Peacock had lived in Parma for 50 years before moving to New Madrid 11 years ago. He was retired from Stites Concrete. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as working in his garden.

On June 7, 1952, he was married to Evelyn Tippen in Piggott, Ark.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Peacock of New Madrid; one son, Ronnie Peacock of Dexter; two daughters, Sharon K. Adams of New Madrid and Jan Boone of Dexter; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Johnny Peacock of Dexter and Gene Peacock of Harlma, Ga.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Melba Peacock and Nola Richmond; one brother, Lonnie Peacock; and one grandson.

Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Parma.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2008, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Parma with Rev. Richard Blagg of Malden officiating.

Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid.
