Mr. DeJournett was raised by Henry Rogers, Sr., who preceded him in death.
Mr. DeJournett had lived in Morehouse for many years and had lived in Dexter the past two years.
On Oct. 12, 1968, he was married to Janie Matney.
Surviving are his wife, Janie DeJournett of Dexter; one daughter, Regina Laminack of Morehouse; one son, Chucky Ray DeJournett of Dexter; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; three brothers, J.D. DeJournett of Davison, Mich., Larry Rogers of Dexter, Junior Rogers of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; six sisters, Ella Caldwell of Imperial, Doris Zillick of Davison, Mich., Ettie Mayo, Bertha Johnson, Louise Cox of Bloomfield, and Betty Faulkner of Marble Hill.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Floyd Rogers; and two sisters, Lucille Gross and Freda Lilly.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter.
Interment will follow in the Triplett Cemetery near Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
