On February 13, 1937, she was united in marriage to Louie E. Smith in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1991.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter, a dedicated homemaker and life-long resident of rural Dexter.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Helen Blunt, Ruble Lane, Mildred Mouser and Dorothy Snider; and one brother, R.R. Snider.
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Wethington and husband, Elzie of Dexter; one son, Clarence D. Smith and wife, Linda of Dexter; four sisters, Naomi Coffey of Chesterfield, Esther Gisi of Essex, Martha Homan of Marquand and Nina Tippen of Kennett; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2008 at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2008 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Josh Carpenter officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
