Annice O. Hisaw

Annice O. Hisaw, the daughter of the late Joe and Tennie Pasley Hooks, was born in Essex on April 15, 1922, and died at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at the age of 86.

Mrs. Hisaw had lived in Essex and Dexter all her life. She attended the Assembly of God Church in Dexter.

On May 8, 1944, she was married to Hollie Lawrence Hisaw in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1997.

Surviving are one daughter, Verma O'Neal of Campbell; one daughter-in-law, Sue Hisaw of Dexter; three grandchildren, Mike Hisaw of Bossier City, La., Lisa Hisaw of San Francisco, Calif., and Chris Wilkerson of Dexter; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Mary-Kate, and John Parker Hisaw, all of Bossier City, La.; one brother, Joe Hooks of Matthews.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Vick and Larry Hisaw; one granddaughter, Susan Hisaw; one brother, Vernon Hooks; and two sisters, Vivian Hooks and Imogene Riefer.

Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. James Gore of Ellsinore officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
