Farewell, Dr. Minton

Friday, June 27, 2008

(Photo)
After 40 years, Dr. John D. Minton closed his Dexter dental practice this week. Friends, former patients and family dropped in to bid Minton and his staff adieu during an Open House Thursday afternoon. Minton is shown with his staff gathered around for a farewell picture. At left is Lynda Lovins, who has worked alongside Minton as a dental health educator for 37 of his 40 years in practice. Also pictured (left to right) are Jamie DeVaughn and Lisa Banken, who are recent employees, and Jeannie French, who also spent many years working at the dental practice.

Happy Retirement Dr. Minton! You were a wonderful caring soul who helped many children through their first dental problems. My oldest daughter was one of them 23 years ago. You and your staff will be missed by the community.

I remember going to Dr. Minton back when I was a child in the late 70`s when his office was located on Grant Street. Im sure he will be missed by his patients.
