James Edwin Robertson, son of the late C.A. Robertson and Ada Belle Howard Robertson, was born on August 28, 1921 at Toledo, Ohio and died at his home in Dexter on June 26, 2008 at the age of 86.
Mr. Robertson was the former Vocational-Agriculture instructor for 43 years with the Charleston Public School System. He received his Bachelor of Science in Education at the University of Missouri at Columbia. He then attended the Masters Program at the University of Arizona at Tuscan. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter.
He was united in marriage to Charlene Myers on December 2, 1948 at Caruthersville and to this union two children were born. Mrs. Robertson survives of the home in Dexter.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Dr. J. D. Robertson of Dexter; by one daughter, Jane Michelle Robertson of Dexter; by five grandchildren, Vadra Selenske, Justin Robertson, Sara Robertson, Collin Sisk and Jordan Pullum; by one great-grandchild, Matthew Selenske; by one brother, Ancil Robertson of Caruthersville and by one sister, Peggy McFall of Memphis, Tn.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Robertson and Ted Robertson.
Friends may call at the First United Methodist Church in Dexter from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2008. Funeral services will then be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Louis Lowe officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
