Martha Frazier

Martha Frazier, the daughter of the late Riley and Nancy Webb George, was born in New Market, Ala., on April 15, 1911, and died at the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at the age of 97.

Mrs. Frazier had lived in Alabama and Arkansas before moving to Southeast Missouri in 1948. She had lived in Essex and moved to Dexter five years ago. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

On Dec. 26, 1934, she was married to Willie Frazier in Fayetteville, Tenn. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1954.

Surviving are her daughters, Betty Bowers of Gordonville and Maxine Hayes of Dexter; two sons, Larry Frazier of Dexter and Gary Frazier of Rockford, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Billy Frazier in 1954; two grandsons; one great-grandson; four brothers, Clyde, Alva, Todd and Grady George; and one sister, Annilou Rousseau.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Dexter with Bro. Dale Grissom of Dexter officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
