Martha Louise Allstun

Martha Louise Allstun, daughter of the late Clarence Wilson and Velossie Dale Lawson, was born in Parma on Sept. 12, 1929, and died at the Missouri Southern Healthcare Center in Dexter on Monday, July 7, 2008, at the age of 78.

Mrs. Allstun lived her whole life in the Dexter area. She was a member of the Essex Church of Christ. She retired from the P.N. Hirsch store in Dexter where she worked in the shoe department.

On Sept. 13, 1947, she was married to Walter Ray Allstun in Piggott, Ark.

Surviving are her husband, Walter Ray Allstun of Dexter; two daughters, Kathy Fortner of Dexter and Geraline Reaves of Seneca; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Larson of Dexter and Joyce Cook of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carroll W. and Charles M. Lawson; two sisters, Jean Newman and Dixie M. Lawson; also two siblings who died in infancy.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with minister Herman Morse of Dexter officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
