Wilmer Niehaus

Wilmer Niehaus, son of the late Henry William Niehaus and Sophia Lowenstein Neihaus, was born on January 2, 1916 near Dexter and died at his residence in rural Dexter on July 9, 2008 at the age of 92.

Mr. Niehaus was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Dexter, a farmer and a resident of rural Dexter.

He was united in marriage to Anna Backfisch on February 2, 1941 at Parma. Mrs. Niehaus preceded him in death on April 9, 1998.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Randal and Peggy Niehaus of Dexter; by one daughter, Barbara Conklin of Carlsbad, Calif., by one sister, Verna Richert of Urich; by two grandchildren, Jess Conklin and Leah Ann Conklin; and by a sister-in-law, Thelma Niehaus of Dexter.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Niehaus; by two sisters, Mable Nieman and Marie Cunningham; by three brothers-in-law: Louis Nieman, Herbert Cunningham and Herman Richert.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2008. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2008 in the Faith Lutheran Church in Dexter with Rev. Adam Mueller officiating. Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.
