Charles William Arthur

Charles William Arthur, son of the late Charley and Elsie Cummins Arthur, was born at Wardell on June 28, 1939, and died at Westwood Hills Healthcare Center in Poplar Bluff on July 11, 2008, at the age of 68.

Mr. Arthur was a resident of rural Essex and was a retired factory worker.

Survivors include two daughters, Mandy Arthur and Darla Arthur, both of Poplar Bluff; one step-daughter, Barbara Purtis of Dyersburg, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Violet Howell of St. Louis.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, William Scott Arthur.

Memorial services and burial will follow at a later date. Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of all arrangements.
