Norma Jean Lewis of DeSoto was born April 3, 1924, at Waverly, Tenn., and died July 15, 2008, at The Villas in DeSoto.

She was the daughter of the late Tom and Artillia Wooverton Crawford. She had been a home health care nurse.

She had been united in marriage to James Edgar Lewis for 58 years, and he preceded her in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis Arleene Wood of Cape Girardeau and Audrey Faye Pierce of Franklinton, La.; two sons, Charles Anthony Lewis of Pacific and Terry Wayne Lewis of DeSoto; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters, Kathleen, Clyde, Flora, Elmer, John, Elvis, and James Crawford, Mildred Hassel, Mavis Wright, Violet Wright, Pauline Sawyer, and infant sister.

She had been a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of DeSoto.

Visitation was held from 4-8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2008, at First Free Will Baptist Church in DeSoto.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2008, at First Free Will Baptist Church in DeSoto with Bro. Bob Thebeau and Bro. Charles Miller officiating.

Interment followed at WoolawnCemetery in DeSoto.
