Noreen Hyslop photo A 52-year-old Dexter man, Norman Fortner, was first extricated from his vehicle and then airlifted to a Cape Girardeau hospital by an AirEvac Lifeteam helicopter at mid-morning Friday after the car he was driving left One Mile Road just north of the Highway 60 overpass and landed in a ditch. Fortner suffered serious injuries in the wreck. Firefighter Don Seymore is shown working with the department's spreader to cut away the car's passenger door and remove Fortner from the car.
