Quentin Spears

Quentin Spears, son of the late Jack Spears and Irene Emerson Spears, was born June 23, 1944 in Montgomery County, Texas and died at his residence near Bernie on July 18, 2008 at the age of 64.

Mr. Spears was a retired carpenter, a former resident of Texas and a current resident of rural Bernie.

He is survived by one son, Eugene Spears of Poplar Bluff; three daughters, Victoria Rhody of Bernie, Donna Stanley of Alvin, Texas, and Lisa Willis of Palestine, Texas; two brothers, Henry Spears of Palestine, Texas and Robert Spears of Neodesha, Kan.; one sister, Mary Spears of Palestine, Texas; and seven grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Spears and A.E. Spears; and one sister, Shirley Stowe.

Visitation was held from noon until 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Bro. George Needham officiating.

Interment followed in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery near Clarkton.
