Vernon P. Hall

Vernon P. Hall, son of the late Daniel P. Hall and Sidney Brewer Hall, was born on April 10, 1918, at Hornersville and died in the St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau on Saturday, July 26, 2008, at the age of 90.

Mr. Hall was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, the former owner of Hall Buick and Hall Trailer Sales, both in Dexter, a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, a member of the Dexter Masonic Lodge #532 and a resident of Dexter.

He was united in marriage to Juanita Davenport on Dec. 17, 1938, at Piggott, Ark. Mrs. Hall preceded him in death on Aug. 12, 1997.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Diane Hall of Dexter; and one grandson, Matthew Hall of Dexter.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Willie Hall, Daniel Hall, Cecil Paul Hall, and Luther Hall; and one sister, Myrtle Hickman.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. A Masonic service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2008, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Howard Fuller officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
