Oliver William "Bub" Hartz

Oliver William "Bub" Hartz, 90, son of the late Melvin Anderson and Missouri Ellen Potter Hartz, was born near Leora on April 16, 1918. He was otherwise known as "Bub" to his friends and associates.

Mr. Hartz was a member of the Puxico Masonic Lodge.

On Oct. 7, 1936, he was married to Beulah "Boots" Johnston in Puxico. She preceded him in death on March 18, 2006.

Surviving are one son, Dwain Hartz of Sparks, Nev.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Rev. John Leslie Hartz of Marionville.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Edwin, Truman and Daniel Lewis Hartz; and one sister, Thelma Powell.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2008, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico with the Rev. Wiley McGhee of Puxico officiating.

Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
