Freeman Albert Walker

Freeman Albert Walker, son of the late Orville and Carrie Carlton Walker, was born at Risco on Feb. 6, 1931, and died at his home in Bloomfield on Aug. 3, 2008, at the age of 77.

Mr. Walker was a retired carpenter and had been a resident of Bloomfield since 1962. He was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield. On August 13, 1952, he was married to Martha Baker.

Survivors include his wife Martha Walker of the home in Bloomfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Sandi Walker of Dexter; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Joe Rampley of Bloomfield; two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Shirley Walker of Puxico and Orville and Ditzie Walker, Jr. of Barnhart; one sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Dennis Marquis of Puxico; one sister-in-law. Pearline Walker of Malden; three grandchildren, Kyle and wife Stephanie Walker of Dexter, Allison Walker of Waynesboro, Va., and Drew Rampley of Bloomfield; four great-grandchildren, Paige Bowling of Bloomfield, Breanna and Lainey Walker and Kelsy Kendrick, all of Dexter.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Lester Walker.

Visitation was held at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2008.

Funeral Services were conducted on Tuesday August 5, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating.

Interment followed in the Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.

Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society or the Stars and Stripes Museum
