| Shane Stoelting of Clarkton, above, was the special speaker at the August meeting of the Stoddard County Women's Democratic Club last Saturday. Stoelting is the Democratic candidate for the State Senate District 25 seat in the legislature. Stoelting runs a computer company. |
Shane Stoelting of Clarkton, a Democratic candidate for District 24 in the Missouri Senate, told a gathering at the Bernie Community Center that the price of gasoline, food and the rising cost of health care were the most critical issues voters are concerned about in the upcoming general election.
Stoelting also took aim at the rising cost of college tuition and expenses, saying 65 percent of college graduates are coming into the workforce with college loan debts of $30,000 or more. He said tuition at colleges in Missouri are "out of control."
Stoelting said he knows he will have an uphill battle. He told those present at the Stoddard County Women's Democratic Club picnic that his opponent has a quarter of a million dollars in the campaign fund.

"I entered this race to make a difference," Stoelting said.
He blamed Republicans for the state of the economy, and urged those present to vote for him as a change from Republican politics.
He said his campaign was in dire need of financial contributions, and asked those present to contribute anything they could. He said he was going to retire from his computer business so that he could campaign full time.

"It is amoral to let poor people do without gas, food and other essentials," Stoelting said.

I say give poor people food stamps, gas card, and a welfare check!
He is right about college tuition, but won't be able to do anything about it. Tough to blame Republicans when the Pelosi and Harry Reid have led Congress NOwhere for over a year and half.
Yeah, and it's also tough to blame Republicans for the high prices of gas when the Democrats in Congress don't want to drill here and now! Pelosi's on her private jet flying around promoting her new book that's lagging in sales.
Proverbs 21:24 says, "Meddle not with those that are given to change". The Democratic Party is socialistic to the core, evidenced by the quote given under the last picture. I'm sure Stoelting believes its governments responsibility to provide these things for the poor. Hey, New Deal, Fair Deal, and Great Society programs were supposed to eliminate poverty. Did they? Those were implemented by Democratic controlled congresses and Democratic presidents. No, we don't want your change! Let's get back to the Constitution and a Constitutional Republic.
The Democratic Party is the party of the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, right to murder unborn babies, right to marry homosexuals.
We need a change! For 40 years we've been in captivity to environmentalist wackos, big government run by socialists, and panty waist pinko politicians. We are dependent on foreign oil. We need a change!
This guy is running for State Senate, it is not like he will be able to change national policy anyway. Rob Mayer has been doing an exceptional job. This guy will not get my vote. And for Wooley, if he doesn't win this race, I wonder if he'll run for city alderman? Let's see there was state rep, sheriff, now county com, it is historically clear the citizens do not want him for anything. Plus, with his anti-gun views, I wouldn't vote him in as dog catcher!
My sources are telling me that this Stole-ting guy is a snake, sort of a weasel. Now, I wouldn't gloat about Rob Mayer...he is slowly turning into a typical politician and the day a quality guy or gal runs against him, he will be humbled. Swift's guns are a blazin'...I can smell the gun powder.
Is it Stoleting or Stole-things?
Great points swift, and hoon, you are right on about placing blame on the Republicans. The economy and everything else started going into the tank when the House and Congress got the Democrap majority. I'll be back later on this topic.
I think this guy is an imposter....That is Shannon England, class of '90 trying to play a featured Dem. speaker talking to a crowd of 12.
If the only two candidates the Democrats can find to run for Missouri House and Missouri Senate down here are a kid who is still "wet behind the ears" and an old man who was kicked out of office 28 years ago under a cloud of controversy, then the party has a serious leadership problem on their hands. I am sticking with proven leadership that gets things done for Stoddard County!
Electile Dysfunction: the inability to become aroused over any of the choices for President put forth by either party in the 2008 election year.
GREER....great!
Sportin' a Woodsy....agree. Its there for the taking, but not when you tout this crap. Amazing how many Burleson signs in yards of people who either don't care or don't know his political legacy. But I will type it again, yellow dogs and bed wetters don't care about any of that. It isn't about the best person, it is all about the *** (donkey, get it, don't censor me, it isn't a cuss word!).
It is amazing. The greatest accomplishment Burleson had in his more than 10 years in the U.S. House of Representatives was that he was 'marble-shooting champion of capitol hill.'! He was more in tune with the ultra-liberal politics of Tip O'Neil and Teddy Kennedy than with the folks in Southeast Missouri. He is NOT a change - but a return to the ancient out-of-touch liberal politics of the last century.
I like the new term, electile dysfunction, greer! That's great. Feelings are mutual, y'all about Stolethings, Coach Wooly, and Bullison. Misspellings were deliberate. Woodsie's right. If the democrap socialists cant't come up with better than this, they're in heap big trouble. I agree with Hoon on Mayer but I'm going to vote for him and hope he don't become just another status quo politician.
Change shouldn't be allowed to be used in campaigns.....it ain't happening. I think someone should try Break it and Start Over.
I haven't seen Shannon England in years.
This guy looks like he just graduated band camp. How old is this dude?
Shannon England graduated I think in 1990. If this is him pretending to be Stolethings, he should be about 35 or so. If this is really Stolethings, I am not sure.
I noticed Stolethings has a stupid socialist yard sign up on bus. 60 beside a Bull is on sign.
I heard he is battling a lawsuit or two? Could be rumor, but if true, amazing a guy like that would run for an office while facing that! Shows several on here are right about that being the best the democrats can come up with .
Now, I'm sure there are probably some folks out there wondering why we call him Stolethings. The answer is simple. He believes it is right to steal from those making more to give to those making less or none (graduated income tax) and to steal from property owners (personal and county property tax). Socialism believes it's right for the government to steal a portion of your income and to steal your property to supposedly help those who are less fortunate.
Actually Swift.....I think he may be defending himself in a court of law in the future...that is why I wondered IF.....IF....that word from my reliable sources is true, why a guy would run for an office and try to overcome that.
Swift....you are going to be one cranky SOB when President Obama is sworn into office come Jan.
You're right on that one Hoon! I have told folks I'll fly my flag half staff.
