Fay Box, 94, of Sikeston died at 5:14 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at her residence in Sikeston. She was born May 29, 1914, at Hagarville, Ark., to the late Earl Jeffrey and Criner Snow Newton. She was a housewife and homemaker, and had also worked for 17 years in the housekeeping department for Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She attended the River of Life Worship Center in Sikeston.

She was married to Amos J. Box on Jan. 9, 1932, at Crowder. He preceded her in death on April 8, 1966.

She is survived by three sons, Frank Box of Dexter, Jay Box of Sikeston and James Box of New Madrid; three daughters, Murline Mitchem of Arnold, Nadine Lucy of Sikeston, and Deloris Yount of Sikeston; three sisters, Valeria Edwards of Indiana, Sallie Matthews and Vera Barton, both of Bryant, Ark.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters; one granddaughter; and one great-great-grandson.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, in the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with Rev. Greg Forester, pastor of the River of Life Worship Center in Sikeston officiating.

Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
