Charles Swallows

Charles Swallows, the son of the late Charley and Lula Swan Swallows, was born in Dexter on Sept. 22, 1932, and died at his home in Canalou on Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at the age of 75.

Mr. Swallows had lived in Dexter for many years and had lived in Canalou the past 25 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the Dexter Eagles Aerie.

Surviving are one son, Andy Swallows of Fulton Ky.; one daughter, Debbie K. Markel of Fulton, Ky.; one brother, Elmer Swallows of Dexter; one sister, Florence Sanders of Dexter, three step-children, Larry DeJournett and Linda, both of Fulton, Ky., and Rocky DeJournett of Puxico.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Anderson Swallows.

Visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Stephen Watkins of Dexter officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Watkins & Sons funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
