John "Jack" Freeman George was born Oct. 19, 1948, at St. Cloud, Minn., and died Aug. 24, 2008, at the age of 59.

He was a police officer of 27 years. He had served in the United States Army during Vietnam.

He was united in marriage to Deborah Jones on May 22, 2005.

Survivors, along with his wife, include his sons, Christopher George of Fairbanks, Alaska, Brian Holmen of Wisconsin, and step-son, Adam Miles of Cordova, Tenn.; and one grandchild.

Visitation will be held this evening at Morgan Sifford Funeral Home in Puxico.

Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, at Brown General Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Placher and Johnny Buttry officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008.
