Dorothy Christine Doublin

Dorothy Christine Doublin, the daughter of the late Daniel Boone and Carrie Ann Hopkins Canady, was born in Bloomfield on Dec. 12, 1918, and died at Rosewood Care Center in Peoria, Ill., on Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at the age of 89.

Mrs. Doublin had lived in Puxico and Kinder areas most of her life before moving to Illinois two years ago. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

On Oct. 19, 1935, she was married to Herman Alvin Doublin in Puxico. He preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 1985.

Surviving are her son, Mark Doublin of Peoria, Ill.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico.

Interment followed in the Puxico Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
