Seniors Jessica Satterfield and Cathryn Heil both had big nights at the net, combining for 29 kills. Satterfield knocked down 17 and added a team-high 12 digs to go along with nine assist and two blocks. Heil charted 12 kills and a team-high 11 assists to go along with nine digs and one block.
"I was proud of the girls tonight (Thursday) for coming out tough and never backing off," Dexter coach Kris Vandeven commented. "We knew Jackson was going to be a tough match and that without Abbie (Warren, out with an ankle injury) we'd have to really come together and work hard.
"We improved on our passing and serving gam, and we were able to run our offense," Vandeven added. "Tonight's match was an overall good performance from my girls. It was quite an improvement from Tuesday's match with Kennett. I am especially proud of Jessica (Satterfield) and Cathryn (Heil) for stepping it up when we needed them the most."
Brittany Bedford added five aces, three digs and three assists, along with Elisha Flanigan with four kills, eight digs and three blocks. Kayla Joyner chipped in with one kill, five digs and three assists, while McKenzie Mitchell recorded two kills and three digs.
Dexter made it a sweep on the night when the jayvee Lady Bearcats posted an opening, 25-18, 25-21, win.
Both squads improved to 2-0 on the season.
Dexter will next be in action Monday at home when they will host the Richland Lady Rebels in a SCAA conference game. Jayvee action is scheduled to start at 6 p. m. with varsity play to follow.
