Della Mae Stanfield

Della Mae Stanfield, daughter of the late Gene Jordan and Mandy Elizabeth Murphy Jordan, was born on Oct. 18, 1917, at Bernie and died at Cypress Point in Dexter on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at the age of 90.

Mrs. Stanfield was a homemaker and a child care provider in Bernie. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bernie.

Survivors include one son, Aaron Mitchell Stanfield, Jr. of Waterford, Mich.; one daughter, Carolyn Walters of Dexter; one sister, Nellie Teike of Kokomo, Ind.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death other than by her husband and her parents by three brothers, Lester Jordan, Chester Jordan and Olan Jordan; and one sister, Opal Kinder.

Visitation was held from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, at the Rainey-Mathis Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Bill Garrett officiating. Interment followed in the Bernie Cemetery.
