Hazel (Barker) Kibler

Hazel J. Kibler was born on June 26, 1922, to Charles H. Barker and Mary J. Barker. She died on Sept. 21, 2008, at Williams Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich., at the age of 86.

Mrs. Kibler was a secretary at American Motor Corp. for 23 years until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of the Royal Oak Church of Christ, a volunteer worker for the American Red Cross, and a resident of Berkley, Mich.

Survivors include one step-son, Richard J. Kibler of Gainesville, Fla.; one step-daughter, Elizabeth A. Gibson of Alton, Ill.; one brother, Marion Barker of Warren, Mich.; ten step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fredic Kibler on Feb. 26, 2008 and by five brothers; Homer Barker, Everett Barker, Elmer Barker, Clarence Barker and Warren Barker, by four sisters; Agnes Hazlip, Grace Williams, Ethel Wilson and Alma Rose.

Visitation was held on Monday, Sept. 22 from 4-8 p.m. at the Kinsey-Garrett Funeral Home in Royal Oak, Mi. and funeral services were held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Kinsey-Garrett Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008 at the Dexter Cemetery with Bro. Dale Grissom of the Dexter Church of Christ officiating. Local services will be provided by the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
