Mildred "Mickey" Rice

Mildred "Mickey" Rice, daughter of the late John W. Clubb and Bertha V Gregory Clubb, died on Monday, Sept. 29, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield.

Mrs. Rice was a former telephone operator in Bernie and a waitress for many years. She was a member of the Sweet Prospect General Baptist Church and a resident of Bloomfield.

Survivors include one daughter, Judy Foushee of Bloomfield; one granddaughter, Kathi Smith of Bloomfield; five great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jenny Lynne Roberson, by three brothers, Carroll A. Clubb, Elvis H. Clubb, and Lester Clubb; by seven sisters, Minnie Pruitt, Zillia Beardsley, Dovie McFarland, Lola V. Johnson, Clella M. Schanks, Stella I. Law, and Esther Clubb.

Visitation will take place at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral home in Dexter from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Tom McCanless officiating.

Interment will follow at the Clubb Cemetery in Zalma.
