Goldie Marie Jennings, the daughter of the late Noah Hardin and Katie Bell Jines Smith, was born in Gray Ridge on January 15, 1918, and died at the Cypress Point Care Center in Dexter on Oct. 1, 2008, at the age of 90.
She had spent over 32 years in Michigan and moved back to Dexter in 1974. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Michigan. She attended the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter.
Mrs. Jennings was first married to Orville Duncan and he preceded her in death in 1991. She later married Earl Jennings and he also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Kathy Duncan of Grand Tower, Il.; three grandchildren, one great grandchild; two brothers, Jerry Lee Smith of Sikeston, Charles Raymond Smith of Modesto, California; and one sister, Hazel Bannister of Dexter.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester Floyd Smith, Dewey Glenn Smith, and one sister, Virginia Pruitt.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 4, 2008, at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Kevin Eskew of Bloomfield officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
