Man, woman busted in Bloomfield meth lab sentenced to prison terms

Wednesday, October 8, 2008

A Bernie man and a Bloomfield woman, both charged in connection with a meth lab in a Bloomfield apartment, have been sentenced to prison.

The pair, 39-year-old Keith Leon Allen of Bernie and Nicole Lovena Ferguson, 35, of Bloomfield, were nabbed by Stoddard County Sheriff's deputies at the residence of Ferguson on S. Prairie Street after an extensive investigation involving the suspected manufacture of methamphetamine, according to Stoddard County Sheriff Carl Hefner.

Following guilty pleas from both of those charged, Allen will be serving a 10 year prison sentence and Ferguson will serve seven years. While Allen pled guilty to both charges, Ferguson pled guilty only to the possession of methamphetamine charge.

Deputy Keith Haynes of the Sheriff's Department applied for a search warrant of the Ferguson residence in late August when an investigation confirmed drug activity at the residence. The search warrant was executed, resulting in the arrest of both Ferguson and Allen.

The two were both originally charged with the Class C felony of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and the Class C felony of possession of precursors to the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Gertie, how do you know that's what she stated in jail? Either one, you had to be there w/ her, or two, you knew someone in there w/ her, which would make what they told you hear-say. I don't like Nikki, but everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt.

I kind of figured that they both would get prison sentences this time around. I only hope it does them good and they can get the treatment they need in order to live a clean and productive life once they are freed.
