Ruby Juanita Sample

Ruby Juanita Sample, daughter of the late Dewitt and Rachel McMannis Thompson, was born on April 19, 1923 at Poplar Bluff, and died on Oct. 6, 2008 at her residence in Dexter at the age of 85.

Mrs. Sample was a homemaker and was united in marriage to Theodore Sample who preceded her in death in August of 1964.

Survivors include one son, Tommy Sample of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Leon Thompson of Lowndes; one sister, Gladys Riebling of Columbia, Illinois; three grandchildren, Teresa Cobb of Dexter, Tammy Newman Diebold of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Jamie Sample of Poplar Bluff and seven great-children.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Newman.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter. Interment will follow at the Dexter Cemetery.
