Bill Jackson, son of the late John F. Jackson and Grace Davis Jackson, was born on July 15, 1924, in Kennett and died at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter on Oct. 13, 2008 at the age of 84 years.

Mr. Jackson was a veteran of the US Army, a member of the Southwest Nazarene Church of Dexter and a resident of Dexter.

On Oct. 16, 1949, he was united in marriage to Jane Rhew in Kennett and she survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife, survivors include one daughter-in-law, Lorraine Jean Finn Jackson of Somonauk, IL.; by two grandchildren, Terry Allen Jackson II of Samonauk, Il, and Jody Jackson of Plainfield, Il; also by two great-grandchildren, Andrew Stoneciper and Hayle Nichole Jackson.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Terry Allen Jackson; three brothers, Eugene Jackson, John Harlen Jackson and Russell Jackson and by one sister, Gladys McNew.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008 from 10 a.m. until noon, at which time funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Ed Stoner officiating. Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, Oct. 17, 2008 at 9 a.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with full military honors.
