Zola Viola Kirkpatrick

Zola Viola Kirkpatrick, daughter of the late Louis Valle Statler and Sarah Jane Statler, was born on Dec. 3, 1913, at Jugtown and died in the Golden Living Center at Malden at the age of 93.

Mrs. Kirkpatrick was a member of the Bernie General Baptist Church, had worked for Hawley's Manufacturing Company in St. Charles, Ill., for several years and was a homemaker.

She was united in marriage to Benjamin Kirkpatrick on April 24, 1931, at Marble Hill. Mr. Kirkpatrick preceded her in death on June 19, 1984.

She is survived by two sons, Franklin D. Kirkpatrick of Corinth, Miss., and Gail Ben Kirkpatrick of Bernie; by one brother, Monroe Statler of Bloomfield; 38 grandchildren;several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Edward R. Kirkpatrick; one half-brother, Loyd Russell; two sisters, Ora Kirkpatrick and Stella Jaco.

Visitation was held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Monday, Oct. 20, 2008. from 5-8 p.m.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at 1 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Fitzpatrick officiating.

Interment followed in the Bernie Cemetery.
