Wanda Loraine Chandler, daughter of the late Clyde and Evelyn Harris Triplett, was born at Dexter on Oct. 23, 1930, and died at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau on Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, at the age of 77.
Mrs. Chandler was a former resident of Flint, Mich., where she was retired from General Motors. She moved to Bloomfield in 1977 and was employed as executive director of the Bloomfield Housing Project and retired from that position after 23 years of service. Mrs. Chandler was a very active member of the Bloomfield Red Hat Society. On Nov. 4, 1970, she was married to Howard Chandler.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Chandler of the home in Bloomfield; two daughters and their spouses, Sandra and Roger Isaac of Flushing, Mich., Connie and Bernard Cobb of Burton, Mich.; one brother and his spouse, Dan and Estella Triplett of Burton; four sisters and spouses, Claudia and Dave Simpson of Mayville, Mich., Penny and Rex Woodby of Plant City, Fla., Bonnie and Herman Sayer of Mesa, Ariz., and Louise Clancy of Traverse City, Mich.; three grandsons, Scott Lawrence, Nathan and Michelle Cobb and Nicholas Cobb; three great-grandchildren, Abbey Lawrence, Andrew Cobb and Addison Cobb.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Judith; one grandson, Matthew Lawrence; and one brother, Timothy.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating.
Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
