She was born Feb. 6, 1972, in Flint, Mich., to Betty Jones Temples who survives of Dexter. She moved to Dexter in 1974, and following completion of her seventh grade year moved to Paris, Tenn., where she graduated from Henry County High School in 1990. She was a former Bloomfield elementary teacher and was principal of Hearnes Elementary in Charleston at the time of her death.
On June 14, 1997, she married Shane Stewart who survives of the home of Charleston.
Also surviving besides her husband are one son, Jake Thomas Stewart, and one daughter, Madelynn Michelle Stewart, both of the home in Charleston; her parents, Bill and Betty Temples of Dexter; one sister, Michelle Terrell of Sikeston; maternal grandmother, Jerry Davis of Dexter; her mother and fathers-in-law, Nick and Ada Robinson of Kennett, and Ken Stewart of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Fleta May Jones.
Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at the Miner Baptist Church, 416 State Rt. H, Sikeston, where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, with the Pastor, Mitch Jackson, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter City Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Pallbearers will be the Missouri State Highway Patrol Honor Guard.
