Alma Lee Vandiver, Daughter of the late Clarence Taylor and Mirtle Riddings Taylor, was born on Sept. 3, 1922, at Searcy, Ark. and died in the Golden Living Center at Dexter on Oct. 18, 2008, at the age of 86.
Mrs. Vandiver was a member of the Bernie General Baptist Church, a home-maker and a resident of Bernie.
She was united in marriage to Roy Vanidver on July 17, 1937 at Cardwell. Mr. Vandiver preceded her in death on April 13, 2004.
She is survived by one son, Don Vandiver of Bushnall, Ill.; four daughters, Retha Clark of Marion, Ky., Jean Balsmeier of Branson, Martha Kajdzik of Renton, Wash., and Alice Warren of Granite City, Ill.; two brothers, Milbourn Taylor of Puxico and Clarence Taylor of Salem; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Tom Vandiver, Ronnie Vandiver and William Earl Vandiver; one brother, Lonzo Taylor; and one sister, Geraldine Craft.
Funeral services were conducted, Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Phil Warren officiating.
Interment followed in the Bernie Cemetery.
