Elliot-Allen exchange wedding vows

Sunday, October 26, 2008

Jonathan Edward Allen and Lauren Elizabeth Elliott exchanged wedding vows on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 20, 2008. Quail Ridge Park in Wentzville was the setting for the fall outdoor ceremony. Rev. Tony Kevin Eskew of Bloomfield officiated before the gathering of family and close friends.

The bride, escorted down the aisle by her father, wore a gown of white silk satin. The softly fitted strapless bodice was accented with an ivory band at the top and dropped to a corsette back. The fitted bodice had a ruched style of pick-up skirt gently flowing into a semi-cathedral train. Her hair was styled in a chignon adorned with fresh flowers. She carried a nosegay of orange roses.

She chose her sister Katelin Elliott as maid of honor who wore a green satin tea length dress. Jessica Berchtold, a friend of the couple, and Tiffany Zimmerman, cousin of the bride, served as bridesmaids. They wore tea length dresses in cocoa brown. All attendants carried arm bouquets of white and orange roses. Flower girls were Reagan Berchtold, daughter of Brett and Jessica Berchtold, and Kyleigh Davis, the daughter of Darin Davis. The flower girl dresses were white and adorned with white angel wings.

The bridegroom chose a Calvin Klein tuxedo. The suit jacket featured a two button notch lapel in shadow stripe and a Tuscany bisque vest and tie. Brett Berchtold served as best man, and Darin Davis and Derek Hutchison, friends of the bridegroom, were groomsmen. They wore identical suits with ivory satin vests and ties. Ringbearer was David Allen Waggoner, nephew of the bridegroom, and his tuxedo mirrored the bridegroom's. Ushers were Mike Ziegler, friend of the bridegroom, and Eric Uraznick, friend of the bride.

Music was provided by Gerry Carson, grandfather of the bride. Her grandparents, Gerry and Sharon Carson, also did the floral arrangements and bouquets.

Mr. Allen is the son of Kenneth and Mary Ann (Parker) Allen of Bloomfield. Grandparents are George and Christine (Boyles) Allen of Doniphan and Linda (Sligar) Parker, formerly of East Prairie and a resident in the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter and the late William Paul Parker. Great-grandparents were William Jackson and Mattie Noble (England) Parker, James E. and Mary Alice (Jackson) Sligar, Edward and Mary Lee (Murray) Allen and Fred and Essie (Harris) Boyles.

Her paternal grandparents are Elaine (Baxter) Elliott of Lathrop and the late Melvin Elliott. Maternal grandparents are Robert and Judy Kilgore of Trimble and Gerry and Sharon (Walsh) Carson of Kansas City.

Following the ceremony a reception and buffet dinner was held in The Park Lodge. It had a Cinderella theme. The triple layer cheese cake had a Prince Charming and Cinderella topper, a gift from the bridegroom to his bride. The bridegroom's cake, baked by his mother, was a replica of his 1976 blue Ford pickup truck and a gumpaste replica of their pet rabbit, Layla.

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Allen, parents of the bridegroom, hosted a rehearsal dinner Friday evening at Little Hills Winery and Restaurant in Old St. Charles.
