J. Roy Smith

J. Roy Smith was born Aug. 29, 1938, in Puxico and died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at Puxico.

He was united in marriage to Anita Sheppard on May 4, 1997, at Branson, and she survives of the home. He had been a member of First Church in Cape Girardeau.

He was in the U.S. Air Force had been self-employed.

Survivors include his wife, Anita Smith of the home; one son, Mitchell J. Smith of Birmingham, Ala.; one daughter, Hayley French of La Quinta, Calif.; one step-daughter, Kim Moore of Caruthersville; one sister, Pauline Wilkinson of Trinity, Texas; one grandson; and two step-grandchildren.

Visitation was held after 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at Morgan Sifford Funeral Home in Puxico.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at the funeral home chapel in Puxico.

Interment followed at Puxico Cemetery.
