Charles Jerome Rogers

Charles Jerome Rogers, son of the late Charles E. and Romaine Rogers, was born in Esty, Mich., on March 13, 1940, and died at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, at the age of 68.

Mr. Rogers moved to Southeast Missouri in 1944 and had lived in Stoddard and Wayne Counties most of his life. He was a resident of Lowndes. He was a member of the Community Church of Christ near Lowndes and loved to fish and hunt.

On Sept. 5, 1970, he was married to Patsy Jones in Dexter.

Surviving are his wife, Patsy Rogers of Lowndes; four sons, Edwin Rogers of San Angelo, Texas, Travis, Shane and Donald Rogers, all of Lowndes; seven daughters, Tressa Winkler of Hillsboro, Tammy Whitaker of Lonedell, Tammy Cox and Rebecca Hicks, both of Lowndes, Heather Fischer of St. Peters, Holly Rogers and Monica Rogers, both of Poplar Bluff; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five sisters, Phyllis Walk of McGee, Carol Jones of Puxico, Sharon Baker of Doe Run, Peggy McAtee of Advance and Vicky Turner of Lowndes.

He was preceded in death by one son, Russell Wayne Rogers; and one brother, Ronald Rogers.

Visitation was held after 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, at the Community Church of Christ near Lowndes.

Funeral services were conducted at 12 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, at the Community Church of Christ near Lowndes with Bro. Jack Rogers of Lowndes and Bro. Dale Rogers of Dexter officiating.

Interment followed in the Community Church of Christ Cemetery near Lowndes with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
