Lt. Col. Retired Carl Foster

Lt. Col. Retired Carl Foster, 87, of Bellevue, Neb., was born May 25, 1921, in Bell City, the son of Jesse W. and Jesse Mae Wheeler Foster, and died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, in Bellevue, Neb.

Carl was a Lt. Col. retired from the US Air Force, and he was a veteran of World War II. He had been a navigator. He was of the Methodist faith. Carl had a tryout with the St. Louis Browns baseball team as a pitcher.

Survivors include a brother, Kenny Foster of Bell City; a sister-in-law, Nedra Foster of Tulsa, Okla.,; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Visitation was held from 9-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

Funeral services were conducted at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance with Rev. Andy Lambel officiating.

Interment followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Advance with full military rites.
